Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
My experience as a therapist spans various client groups, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am always mindful of the uniqueness of each client and tailor interventions to meet the specific needs of each case. My greatest asset as a therapist is being an empathetic and loving mother to a teenager. This role allows me to engage in healing daily as we both navigate the challenging yet beautiful journey of this life stage. I graduated from Albizu University in Miami, FL, and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; while completing my Master’s Degree, I worked with autistic children and became a registered behavioral technician. I also led a psychotherapy group for elders and clients with mental health struggles, helping foster their overall well-being and socialization skills. Additionally, I implemented mindfulness and music therapy with clients struggling with addictive disorders. This diverse experience has equipped me to understand and address a wide range of client needs. After completing my Master’s, I began working at a community mental health center, where I was able to incorporate my extensive artistic background. I received training in play therapy and sand tray interventions for both children and adults, which greatly enriched my therapeutic expertise. I firmly believe that therapy should not be a painful experience. Therefore, I continually grow professionally by learning and implementing techniques that make the therapeutic journey enjoyable while promoting personal growth and self-awareness. My unique background is a blend of music and psychology. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music, majoring in Percussion, and was part of a music group that specialized in Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music. This experience allowed me to travel to many countries and enrich my understanding of different cultures. Living in Spain for a few years, I began a Master’s in Music Therapy and discovered the exciting possibilities of combining both worlds. After moving to the United States, I applied my musical knowledge as a music teacher in public and private schools, working with children from kindergarten through 12th grade. However, I felt that teaching alone didn’t allow me to make the impact I wanted in the lives of children and families, so I pursued my Master’s in Psychology, which was my vision of the future from a young age.
